This is a four-part interview with Seema Desai, MD, who is a psychiatrist in New York City, an expert on mindfulness, and co-editor of the book:
Becoming Mindful: Integrating Mindfulness into Your Psychiatric Practice
The book was commended in 2017 by the British Medical Association as one of the best books of the year in the field of psychiatry.
Dr. Desai is an Assistant Clinical Professor in the departments of child, adolescent and adult psychiatry at NYU School of Medicine in New York, NY. In addition to her adult psychiatry residency training at the University of California at Irvine with a specialty track in integral psychiatry, and child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship at Harbor UCLA Medical Center, Dr. Desai also completed a fellowship in mind-body medicine in India. She teaches a course at NYU on “Mindfulness and Mental Health” and has led mindfulness-based skills groups for stress reduction and wellness.
Note: At only a couple of places, the connection was poor for 2 to 3 seconds. Other than that you will find the interview very helpful.
