This is a four-part interview (so that you can watch one part at a time if you are busy) with Seema Desai, MD, who is a psychiatrist in New York City, an expert on mindfulness, and co-editor of the book:
This book, published by American Psychiatric Association Publishing, was “highly commended” at the British Medical Association’s annual Medical Books Awards, 2017 as one of the best books of the year in the field of psychiatry.
Dr. Desai is an Assistant Clinical Professor in the departments of child, adolescent and adult psychiatry at NYU School of Medicine in New York, NY. In addition to her adult psychiatry residency training at the University of California at Irvine with a specialty track in integral psychiatry, and child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship at Harbor UCLA Medical Center, Dr. Desai also completed a fellowship in mind-body medicine in India. She teaches a course at NYU on “Mindfulness and Mental Health” and has led mindfulness-based skills groups for stress reduction and wellness.
Note: At only a couple of places, the connection was poor for 2 to 3 seconds. Other than that you will find the interview very helpful.
