Find a Cognitive-Behavior Therapist
So, you recommend to your patient that he/she should see a cognitive therapist. But if you don’t know of a cognitive therapist close to where the patient lives, where would you find one?
The Academy of Cognitive Therapy (www.academyofct.org) is an organization that certifies cognitive therapists and its website allows you to search for a cognitive therapist by location.
Find a Dialectical-Behavior Therapist
OCD therapist/support group
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is best treated by a psychotherapist with formal training in treating OCD with exposure and response prevention. Where can patients or referring clinicians find therapists with experience and training in treating OCD?
I don’t think there is any guarantee that the people who are listed on this website have had specific training in treating OCD. But, the fact that they are members of IOCDF at least suggests that some of their clinical focus is on OCD.
Find a facility providing Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation
Different manufacturers of TMS devices provide the ability to search for clinicians who provide TMS using their particular device in or near the zip code entered by the patient.
