We know that we should do a search for potential drug-drug interactions more frequently, but we face two problems:
1. Drug interaction software and electronic medical records bring up too many potential drug interactions, most of which are not of much clinical significance. So we get drug interaction fatigue.
2. We are busy seeing patients and don’t have much time to do drug interaction searches or review the search results.
But what if we could do a drug interaction search in 60 seconds or less? And the results were displayed in a “get to the point” format that could be reviewed in 30 seconds?
This page provides a short video tutorial about how exactly to become a power-user of Epocrates Online so that we can do drug interaction searches quickly and avoid those drug interactions that can have serious consequences.
Epocrates online (https://online.epocrates.com) is a free website.

What are your thoughts on UptoDate’s drug interaction checker? I have found it helpful.

Thanks for your question! There are several excellent drug interaction search tools–including UptoDate’s LexiComp–but they require a paid subscription and only a small fraction of clincians have access to them.
