Interviewee: Dorothy Sit, MD

Dr. Sit is an Associate Professor at Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine. Her research focuses on the development of treatments for women with mood disorders and her clinical work focuses on the care of women with major mood disorders during the childbearing years including pre-conception planning, pregnancy and postpartum.

Dr. Sit completed an NIMH-funded randomized, controlled clinical trial of the efficacy of bright light therapy for bipolar depression. She is developing new research studies to study biomarkers and neural mechanisms of response to bright light therapy.

Dr. Sit serves on the Scientific Advisory Committee for the Center for Environmental Therapeutics. She is the Vice-President for the Society for Light Treatment and Biological Rhythms.
