Should some persons with catatonia be given continuation (and even maintenance) ECT?

Question from a Member: I did an acute series of 9 treatments with a patient who has Schizoaffective disorder, depressed, with catatonia. The catatonia has resolved and I’m trying to decide on continuing ECT after discharge from the hospital versus stopping ECT for now with a plan to come back for further treatments if symptoms…
