Urinalysis: A “simple and practical” guide for mental health clinicians

When mental health clinicians order laboratory tests for their patients (or obtain the results from other clinicians), we should not forget to also obtain a urinalysis periodically. As we will see in the examples discussed below, a urinalysis can provide useful clues to problems relevant to the efficacy or side effects of psychiatric medications.
