Does melatonin need to be gradually tapered off when stopping it?

When hypnotic medications like benzodiazepines and the so-called “Z drugs” are stopped after having been used for more than just a few days, they should be tapered off to avoid possible withdrawal symptoms and rebound insomnia.

What about melatonin? Does it need to be gradually tapered off when stopping it?
