Why don’t we routinely prescribe lamotrigine extended-release (Lamictal XR®)?

Question from a Member: I am curious in terms of mood stabilization, why long-acting lamotrigine isn’t used more often. I rarely see the long-acting version of lamotrigine used. I know cost can be a reason in a lot of cases but can you speak to that as well? Is it really more convenient? Lamotrigine extended-release…
