Is longer-term use of gabapentin associated with an increased risk of dementia?

Question from a Member: Recently, I have had a few patients reach out regarding the long-term risk associated with gabapentin and cognitive decline/dementia. Research seems to indicate that younger people (under age 50) and higher doses are risk factors. Can you speak to the risks associated with gabapentin use? Why are patients asking about this?…
