Referring patients for esketamine (Spravato®) treatment: Who, Where, and How?

One of the important treatment options to consider for patients who suffer from major depressive disorder—NOT for all patients, but for some of them—is esketamine nasal spray (Spravato®).

But most clinicians don’t themselves provide treatment with esketamine nasal spray and need to know exactly WHOM to refer for this treatment, WHERE to refer, and HOW to refer, that is, what exactly do referring clinicians need to do.
