Dopamine D2 receptor partial agonists: Receptor binding affinity and intrinsic activity

Aripiprazole (brand name Abilify), brexpiprazole (brand name Rexulti), and cariprazine (brand name Vraylar) are antipsychotics that are partial agonists at dopamine D2 receptors. Leslie Citrome, MD, who is also on the Editorial Board of Simple and Practical Mental Health, memorably noted that the names of these three antipsychotics can be remembered as ABC (Citrome, 2015)….
