Abrupt discontinuation of stimulant medications

I am seeking information about the effects and safety concerns of abrupt discontinuation of stimulant medication.

There have been a handful of clients that we have suspected of diversion or abuse who have requested earlier refills, and these requests were not honored.

What are the effects if stimulant medications are not refilled for another few days or weeks?
