Which psychiatric medications can cause painful ejaculation, and what could we do about it?

In this article, we will briefly answer the following questions:

1. Which psychiatric medications can cause painful ejaculation?

2. How does medication-related painful ejaculation manifest clinically?

3. Is painful ejaculation dose-dependent? If lowering the dose is clinically feasible, could that resolve this side effect?

4. Other than stopping the psychiatric medication or lowering its dose, is there something that can be added (an “antidote”) to treat painful ejaculation occurring as a side effect of a psychiatric medication?
