Can thrombocytopenia be due to alcohol use?

The image below shows the laboratory test results for one of my patients who suffers from an anxiety disorder and had also been drinking too much alcohol. Could the marked decrease in his platelet count (thrombocytopenia) be due to the alcohol use? Can thrombocytopenia be due to alcohol use? Thrombocytopenia and platelets are not mentioned…
