Gabapentin for the treatment of akathisia?

Medication-induced akathisia is a horrible side effect that can be difficult to treat. There are no FDA-approved treatments for akathisia, but centrally-acting beta blockers like propranolol, benzodiazepines, and low-dose mirtazapine are the best-established treatments.
