Vimal M Aga, MD, is a fellowship-trained and board-certified Geriatric Psychiatrist.

Dr. Aga is an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Neurology, Oregon Health and Science University (OHSU) in Portland, Oregon, USA, where he sees outpatients at the NIH-funded Layton Aging and Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center, while his inpatient practice is with the Geriatric Psychiatry Program at the Oregon State Hospital in Salem, Oregon, USA.

His areas of interest include the diagnosis and treatment of the dementias and their associated neuropsychiatric symptoms, and he has chaired workshops on psychopharmacology and on diagnosing and treating the dementias at Annual Meetings of the American Psychiatric Association as well as other meetings. He is on the teaching faculty of the OHSU Geriatric Psychiatry Fellowship Program, and also of the monthly West coast Fellows Most Difficult Case Conference. He has contributed to the American Association of Geriatric Psychiatry Annual Meeting Self-Assessment Exams over several years, and also to the Geriatric Review Syllabus, 11th Edition. He has authored or co-authored book chapters on brain imaging in dementia and geriatric psychopharmacology.

In his free time, he enjoys listening to music and traveling with his family.
