Mental health clinicians should screen all their female patients–adolescents, young women, middle-aged women, and older women–for low (hypoactive) sexual desire (libido).
If low sexual desire is present, the woman should be further evaluated to see if the problem amounts to having a disorder (now subsumed under Female Sexual Interest/ Arousal Disorder). How to do this will be discussed on a separate page.
